  Today I had a CT scan appointment at HSC, and I was genuinely impressed by the entire experience. The front‑desk staff, nursing team, and technicians were all exceptionally caring, kind, and efficient. I was treated with fairness and empathy, and I noticed that every patient around me received the same respectful and compassionate care. I’ve often had mixed feelings about the health‑care system in our country, but today made me rethink some of those concerns. As Manitoba’s largest hospital, HSC operates under significant pressure, with limited infrastructure and manpower. Yet the people who work there consistently deliver their very best. Their dedication truly stands out.

  About 4 years ago, my husband had 2 stents inserted at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre to help the performance of a heart valve. We now live in New Brunswick and he over the last week or so he was examined and tested at Saint John Hospital. The doctor was impressed with the stents and declared it a wonderful job. Thank you 💖

  My father was staying on GB2 for the last few weeks, and the doctors there were anything but caring. They lied to us about his progress, ignoring obvious signs that we were concerned about. After about a week, the bed manager started threatening us with looking for someone else to make discissions on his behalf, and was sending questionable people to his house with letters. The bed manager said she has proof the letters were delivered, saying they were registered... they were not. She seems to think she can make up the rules with no consequences. We reported all of this to Patient Relations and initially dealt with Amy. Over the next few weeks, we were leaving voicemails updating her on the poor care and the threats. There was no return calls. Eventually she called back saying she has limited hours and will be on vacation. No one else followed up. They seem to be as useful as the hospital staff, even though they say they are a neutral party. Some of the events that occurred are criminal and anyone in any other profession would have been fired and charged. We are will be bringing legal into this as elder abuse and uttering threats needs to be dealt with swiftly.
