My Mom spent her final year at Bethany long term care on 2S. She was 94 years old with dementia. I have other first-hand experience for comparison: Mom and Dad previously spent a year living at our house and three years at another care facility. I was apprehensive about moving Mom once again, but soon found that she was much better off with Bethany than her previous arrangements -- even living at home with us. The caregivers were sincerely concerned and very attentive and provided me with good updates and information when I visited. This is a larger unit with more residents but that also means more caregivers and more activity which was a great benefit. I was impressed how well the staff and other residents had got to know Mom and how they'd become part of her life. We have good memories of taking Mom to the fabulous atrium for tea and cookies, surrounded by the trees and fountain. It is tough to see a loved one in decline but important to realize that neither you nor the caregivers are to blame for their condition - with Bethany's help we were able to see Mom through this stage and give her as much joy as possible.

Our mother has been in this facility for over a month now, and recently she was moved to another unit. The kindness and compassion shown in her previous unit truly blessed our family, and in her new unit we have once again been overwhelmed by the care, kindness, and attention she continues to receive. Overall, our experience with this facility has been well above our expectations. Great job, and thank you for all the care you provide. I would also like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to Amandeep, Queenie, Tereza, Rahel, Connie, and all the staff on the 4th floor. Thank you!….from Melot and Lirio

Our mother was recently transferred to Bethany NW from South Health Campus, just about a week ago. She’s in the early stages of dementia and, given her age, is now quite fragile. From the very first day of her stay, we’ve received nothing but genuine care, attentiveness, and — most importantly — clear and compassionate communication. The staff have interacted with our mother in such a kind and respectful way that she has adjusted to her new environment much more easily than we ever expected. It hasn’t been easy for us as a family to see our once fiercely independent mother transition to a setting where so much depends on the care of others. Naturally, we were anxious and uncertain about what to expect. But to our relief and gratitude, the team at Bethany NW has put our worries to rest right from the start. Their professionalism, warmth, and patience have made this difficult journey much more comforting for all of us. We are genuinely grateful to everyone at Bethany NW for the wonderful care and support they’ve provided. Special shout out to GITI, ALEEKA, DENISE, NAN, RAQUEL, FELY, JUDITH, JANET, LORNA, BRENDA, SHARON, JOY and everyone on 7th floor unit. You all rock! Highly recommended.
