My mother stayed here on respite , and they nearly killed her. My Mom has dementia, aspiration is a risk! The feeding staff, a motely crew, gave her toast. Our private caregiver saw my Mom coughing. The nurse on staff would not give her name, she wore no nametag. We calked 911, my mother’s lungs were flooded. The nurse took her time, despite the paramedic shouting at her. My dear mother nearly died in that prison! They feed people who are asleep and the food dribbles down. Mom was there for respite and was there less than a week. My mother spend three weeks in hospital. We never got a call from anyone! I lodged a complaint, but they did nothing. Never ever put your loved ones here! This place is a disgrace!

Had a terrible experience placing my mom here for convalescent care. Not enough staff to accommodate a 2 person assist for safe transfers, call bell was not working first day so no help was had overnight. The call bell was fixed the following day. I spent many hours with my mom there to make her as comfortable as possible and I even rang the call bell on a few occasions and waited a long time for help. She had so much pain from waiting so long to use the washroom with assistance. She uses a CPAP to sleep and she was choking one night and was not able to get it off because of her right arm being in a cast. There was no help for her and she is now so traumatized by that incident that she is having difficulty wearing it again. The staff walk around stating that they are tired. The only plus is the view of the water.

I had a few choices for respite care for my mom, and after reading the reviews I unfortunately chose it as most of the reviews were favorable. 1 nurse for 30 patients is not acceptable. I had to get her out after a week as no one would come if she rang. She was left in her own filth and is now traumatized after the experience she had there. They say they try to answer a patients call within 15 min but this is not a reality. The Director of Patient Care could not care less and just gives you the standard "we strive to provide a high level of care" line. There is no dignity left for anyone put into this home.
