To the care team at CHSLD Émilie Gamelin 5 AC, Words fail us to express our gratitude at the end of our mental health internship from February 17 to 27, 2026. Your willingness to help us at any time deeply touched us. Your guidance at the very beginning of our internship reassured us. The bond of trust we observed between you and our instructor, Ms. Linda Borough, also instilled confidence in us and allowed us to develop technical and interpersonal skills essential to our wonderful profession. The employees at this branch are extremely disrespectful. Those who park on Sainte-Catherine Street before 7:00 a.m. and wait for the parking lot to move make a mess every day by congregating in front of other people's windows. One employee named Michelle, with her Toyota, completely crosses the line (I don't think she's qualified to work in this field). I've already notified the branch coordinator, but there's been no change in their behavior. The next step is legal action.

My mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's, arrived at the Émilie-Gamelin long-term care facility about two months ago. I was very stressed about her transfer to a long-term care facility, especially since she had been living independently in a private seniors' residence. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated rapidly, and I had to make the difficult decision to transfer her to a permanent care unit. Having never been through this situation before, I didn't really have a point of reference to assess the quality of care she was receiving. However, comparing it now with what we experienced in the private sector, I realize how much the Émilie-Gamelin Centre stands out for the quality of its care and attention. While I thought that by paying high fees in the private sector, my mother would be treated with the utmost care, I was surprised to see the enormous difference at the Émilie-Gamelin long-term care facility. Where I would give a private facility a 2 out of 5, I would unhesitatingly give the CHSLD Émilie-Gamelin a 5 out of 5. Everyone involved is attentive and caring. My mother feels comfortable, and I am truly reassured. The staff is always smiling, courteous, and kind. The orderlies and nurses are responsive to each resident's needs. A huge thank you to everyone who takes care of my mother at the Centre Émilie-Gamelin, especially the head nurse on the 3rd floor. You have my deepest gratitude. 🙏
