Moving my mother into Chartwell Heritage Valley was one of the best decisions our family has made. From day one, the staff made us feel welcome and part of the community. Everyone genuinely knows the residents by name and treats them with real warmth and dignity. Mom loves the pond view from her suite and is always telling us about all the activities she gets to do. She's more social now than she's been in years. The meals are fantastic too! If you're looking for a retirement residence in South Edmonton where your loved one will truly thrive, Chartwell Heritage Valley is the place 👌👌

I was just at Chartwell Heritage Valley and WOW!!! Not only is it a beautiful residence, but the Welcome I received was warm and heartfelt. I have had the opportunity to enjoy a meal. DELICIOUS. I highly recommend visiting Chartwell Heritage Valley for a tour.

The staff at this retirement home are great—kind, hardworking, and genuinely caring. Meals are very good, and the recreation programs are fantastic for residents on both the independent and memory care sides. That said, there are ongoing issues that need serious attention. The elevators are frequently broken and take a long time to be repaired, which is very frustrating for residents and families like us. When elevators are working, they’re often dirty and covered in hand smudges. The memory care unit is especially concerning. Having only two staff per shift is very unrealistic, as caring for residents with dementia is extremely challenging and requires adequate staffing. Common areas, like main lobby, hallways, particularly in the memory care unit dining area are often dirty and have unpleasant odors when you go inside the unit. I have relatives in both the dementia unit and the independent living side, so I see both the strengths and the weaknesses. With better maintenance, cleanliness, and staffing support, this place could be much better.
