The job of a PSW is already physically and emotionally demanding. In these moments, you should be able to rely on the agency and case workers, but too often their responses are unhelpful and sometimes rude when concerns are raised. Scheduling and communication are also a serious issue. There have been multiple times when the system is updated and a new client or change is added less than an hour before, with no phone call or proper notice. It feels like workers are expected to constantly check their phones and guess what’s coming next, which adds stress to an already exhausting job and makes it hard to plan a normal life. On top of that, there have been occasions when staff from the agency have called workers in a raised voice, speaking disrespectfully, as if they have no dignity or rights. No frontline worker should be made to feel like a servant or a slave, especially when they are the ones providing essential care and keeping the system running. It is disheartening and demoralizing to see how little respect and empathy is sometimes shown to PSWs who are just trying to do their jobs. I hope Circle of Care takes this kind of feedback seriously and works to improve how they support their PSWs, from fair scheduling and clear communication to treating staff with basic respect and professionalism.

I have found that without exception the people I've had contact with are professional, knowledgeable and caring. That includes not only for the Circle of Care clients, but also their families. Not to forget to include the shuttle bus drivers and their assistants.

Ask for Rashida, a PSW there. She goes above and beyond with my aunt, empathetic, knows her stuff and highly recommend her. Thank you!
