Due to my father's changing health needs and dementia, I had to move him from a retirement residence to long term care. I looked at several places in Victoria. The decision came down to Trillium Communities and their Clover Point location. The other place that was in contention offered to discount the room after I told them I had chosen Clover Point. That upset me as dad was a loved one and not a commodity. They were American owned and corporate. I think Trillium Communities has a competitive advantage in that it is family owned and operated in BC. The house is in a nice residential neighbourhood and has a small amount of residents living there. It does not feel institutional at all in the way that these other larger care homes do like where my mother was. My dad was there from Dec 2020 until he passed away in March 2025. He was able to age in place and it was important for me that he could do that. I did not want to have to move him again as he inevitably declined. The staff are super nice and caring. They helped my dad as much as they could and would also keep me updated when needed. Anything I needed was always responded to in a timely manner. There were several times that they went above and beyond over the years that dad was there. The Director of Care is amazing and knew my father very well. We had a great relationship and he was available for me right up to the end when dad declined rapidly. Reflecting back on everything, I know I made the right care decision for my dad in choosing Trillium Clover Point.

Clover Point Care is an intimate place with a cozy atmosphere and a gentle, caring staff. It's more like a boarding house with a family feel. It was the perfect place for my wife at her stage of dementia. The staff and management kept in close touch, and quickly attended to any problems or developments. You can be assured that your loved one will be care for by the best.

Our father had the best care at Clover Point. With dementia and mobility issues, extra care was taken to ensure his safety and enjoyment. Different techniques were employed to alert them when he was getting up so they could immediately be there to help and prevent a fall. The staff were excellent, treating him with respect at all times and were very responsive to his - and our - requests. I highly recommend this cozy, personal residence.
