  I have a 83 year old girlfriend that’s been living at Garry Armstrong secured floor for approximately 6 years and I’m very please on how she is treated there. Amazing staff!

  It has been a year now since my mom has been at Garry J Armstrong on the memory care floor (Allen House)and I am so grateful and thankful. In the beginning, it wasn't easy and I didn't expect it to be easy. There were ups and downs and most times I could be a little rough in my approach when it came to interacting with staff and yes, I have had apologize on many occasions. The staff are very gracious and they understood that I was adjusting to this new reality to this new diagnosis to the changes that were happening in my mother's life and I wasn't quite ready to accept it. Today, however, I can tell you that management, nursing staff, activities, kitchen staff and dietary aids have been wonderful. They listen and they address my concerns and even though dealing with family members is not new for them they treat me as an individual with a whole new set of feelings and emotions. They don't just lump me into one category saying oh well they all go through this and I appreciate that because I needed that, it helped me get through and go through what I needed. The doctor on staff doctor, Dr. Liu is a wonderful person who takes the time to talk with me and help me formulate a plan of action that will benefit my mom which is what's important. Garry J Armstrong has truly proven to be the peace of mind I needed when making a decision to place my mom. I had rejected the first choice we had and I'm happy we did because Garry J Armstrong is a great place. It's not easy caring for people who have memory issues. It can be challenging for everyone involved and I'm truly grateful for the staff on the Allen floor for all they do and for letting my mom call me and for just being kind. I truly appreciate everyone at Garry J Armstrong . Once again a big thank you to the NURSES and PSW’s for all you do💐💐💐💐

  I would have initially given a top rating and generally was impressed. But, after over 10 years of weekly volunteering, when I was sitting with my mother for hours on 3 occasions as she was dying, I was not even offered a glass of water. After she died, and while she was still in the room, I was told I had to empty it. I had intended to continue volunteering, but could not after such treatment. The floor did had different staff than usual at the time, so I hope this doesn't happen to others.
