My aunt is in palliative care at forest valley. We were promised dignified end of life care and we were told that forest valley has exceptional care. However her basic needs are not being met. Her call bell doesn’t work. There is no phone line in the room and there are always short staff down to one person per floor. Today for example I arrived at 11:20 and she hadn’t even been fed breakfast. No one came to change her diaper, check on her, wash her face, brush her teeth or change her clothes. She is supposed to be turned every two hours however she is never turned and now she has bed sores. She told me today that her teeth haven’t been brushed in the month that she has been there. She is supposed to be able to receive morphine when needed however they do not have staff to check on her and no way to reach the staff. After I complained, she was fed breakfast shortly after. I was told that they only have time for to feed the residence today since they are short staff. Furthermore she is paying an extra premium for two people lift to put her in a wheelchair however there isn’t staff to do this. Forest Valley Terrace is not putting in the care. Where is our money going? I tried to reach the director of care and thé CEO however no one was working today. Why isn’t there care thé other days. I am going to file another official complaint.

My mother has been at the Forest Valley residence since September 2024. We are very pleased with the amazing care and attention she receives. She repeatedly tells us that she is happy, she loves the staff and, despite her dementia, refers to the residence as her «home» where she loves to walk. We were told that my mother would thrive at Forest Valley. It only took a few weeks for us to see the positive change in my mother. We attribute this to the great staff and care at Forest Valley.

My Dad has been at Forest Valley Terrace for over 2 years. The adjustment was difficult at first. However, the staff was wonderful at making him feel at home. Everyone that works there is understanding, hard working and dedicated. I am thankful that it is a safe and loving place for those suffering from dementia. The food is really good and family is welcome to join their loved ones for meals. There are many activities, some outings which are always welcome. Family members are always invited to join in. I am especially appreciative of the communication from the Director of Care when there is an issue. I would highly recommend Forest Valley to anyone looking for a safe haven for any loved one with dementia.
