Hi , my mom had Alzheimer's and we chose this place because it was close to where she use to live. I would like everyone to know that she was not in good hands. I never wrote a Comment in my life, however I took the time to do this one. The staff , that aren't many ,are not adaptive to take care of people with difficulties . The place usually smelled like urine . My mom clothes , teeth ,glasses, were lost. I would find her wearing someone's else clothes. I can go on and on. Just please be aware!

It's been over a year since my grandmother moved in, and it's clear that the services provided to residents are not up to par. We had to complain about a cigarette smell in her room (caused by her neighbor) four times before anything was done. We feel the staff are welcoming and warm, but what seems to be coming from the administration doesn't demonstrate that care and the elderly are central to the facility's values. The price of breakfast (for family members who want to eat with the resident) has doubled, now $15 for powdered scrambled eggs. Things are really bad. We bring Portuguese chicken every two weeks to eat with my grandmother, and we learned last week that it's no longer possible to bring in food from outside. You're supposed to provide a living environment for these people, and you don't have the right to reinforce this restriction; it's unacceptable.

We had a horrible experience there. Mom had advanced Alzheimer's. I feel we were very clear with what her needs were before moving in, and we were assured this was a good fit for her. Although the rooms were nice, there were problems from the start ex: lock on bathroom door was faulty. She would get locked in there. Hallways deserted and cold. Some staff was helpful and kind, and there were some good activities, but overall, for someone like my mom, the main things were missing. Not enough staff, and it seems like a lot of the staff was not trained for this level of care. More hands on care needed, or don't accept people that require more care than what you can offer. We found her sleeping on the floor in her room in the mornings, and even with us being there a lot, and sending our own caregivers to pad the missing care, she still went downhill very quickly health-wise and cognitively. Ended up at hospital twice within a few weeks, and then CHSLD, where the care was more appropriate.
