My 89 year old mom visited many senior homes in Victoria, but Trillium Highgate Lodge on Cedar Hill Cross Rd stood out immediately, it felt like family from the moment we walked in. It’s a smaller community with only 54 rooms, which gives it a warm, close‑knit atmosphere that you simply don’t find elsewhere. The building is spotless, the rooms are modern and well equipped, and the staff are consistently professional, kind, and genuinely caring. There is 24/7 front desk support, weekly room cleaning, and they’ll wash towels and linens whenever needed. There’s also a laundry room and storage available, which is incredibly convenient. The amenities are wonderful: an on‑site hair salon, a small store, daily exercise and activities, outings to places like Butterfly Gardens, birthday celebrations, parties, and Friday Happy Hour with wine and appies which is a highlight for many residents! The chef is amazing, and the three meals a day are delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A special mention goes to the manager, Leroy DeSouza, whose leadership and warmth set the tone for the entire home. The people here are truly the gem of this place. My mom chose Highgate because it felt like home: safe, joyful, and full of heart. Highly recommended for any family looking for exceptional care in a welcoming environment.
