  Do not put your loved one here!!! I would have given zero stars if I could have. The system has slapped my best friend in the dementia ward, but she has Multiple Sclerosis! They can’t help her there! The system held her in the hospital for over a year, disallowing her to return to the life she had lived alone for 20 years. Her financial affairs were forced to be unattended, and she lost her home, her electric wheelchair, and independence completely. She’s only 41. The problem is she can’t speak legibly due to MS. She has no family to help her out of that dementia ward. I can only help so much as I am not family. They have no aids to enable her to be independent, so now she’s in diapers. She gets food poisoning more than once a month. I appreciate they are trying to help as there was nowhere else for her to go, but they are not helping her. She says she is now becoming more and more disabled from being forced to a bed (I take her out and she’s good, she can still text me). She can’t afford the cost there. The food is terrible. There isn’t a change machine for her to do laundry although they require her to pay with coins but she can’t go anywhere!? It’s unbelievable.

  After my HORRENDOUS experience at Chartwell EauClaire where they almost killed her there. Mom ended up in the hospital and was close to death. From the hospital in January she was moved into Intercare Brentwood. I prayed that God would have her sent to the place that would be perfect for both of us. All I can say is that I LOVE BRENTWOOD INTERCARE! I can't sing enough praise for the staff and how responsive they are. After caring for my mom 24/7 for 3 years, and six months in assisted living, I finally have a complete team supporting me. They are very attentive and give great care to my mom. I know there are limitations and that care might not be exactly what I would give as they have more than one person to care for. With me it was a one on one care, so the care would be far more immediate, and with that said I have NO COMPLAINTS! My mom is thriving, and so much happier now, which ultimately makes me happy. My stress level is now pretty much non existent. I would rate it as a 1 out of 10. Mom enjoys the staff and loves to entertain everyone. I think the key is for family to be involved with their loved one and to regularly visit. I see some that I presume don't have family or friends coming in. But then again I might just miss them. When I go in I make sure I get to know the other residents names and I do my best to spread love and joy on them all. I am so grateful and so blessed, thank you to all who work at Intercare Brentwood who work hard to give our loved ones the best life they can have given their life sentence of dementia.

  If you care about your loved one, DO NOT put them in this facility. The dementia floor especially. Patients are left alone and isolated frequently. Best thing I did was got my mother out of that place. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
