  We were thrilled to be able to have my 94 year old Dad live at Keedwell. What a godsend that they had a room when he needed it and Myrna and her staff looked after his more complex needs! They made sure he was settled in from the start to be able to take care of his needs. With Myrna’s nursing background she added a confidence we needed that they were looking after him. She knew “the system”(public) and wanted to do her best to provide personalized care above and beyond, treating him and us with respect yet if help was needed outside the care home she advocated for him. She communicated with us clearly and in some cases very quickly if there was a medical emergency happening or anticipated. Her staff were friendly and very good to Dad and us and cared for his needs. The facility is very clean and in talking to several people that have been to other places, CLEAN is very important and can’t be taken for granted as others are not. They also are careful to protect residents from colds and viruses. They were flexible as medical appointment schedules changed for homecare etc. Senior resident safety is a priority as they have an alarm on the door to prevent residents from wandering off and guests from coming and going without staff involvement. They encouraged residents to participate in daily activities in the care home that staff organized to help residents thrive. Myrna organized special events like Valentine’s Day they had a tea and dessert celebration with some entertainment and even planned a tea and cake for all the residents with my Dad and Mom to celebrate their anniversary which made them feel so special. They even have occasional potlucks for residents and their families and the one we were at was very nice. They promote a family like atmosphere and are accommodating for friends and family to visit residents. They even have a large dining table and chairs upstairs that our family booked a few times to bring in a homemade meal for us to have with Dad while he was there which was very meaningful. No matter what there will always be room for improvement anywhere but we were very pleased with the main reason Dad was there and that was his care which was excellent!

  Miss Trunchbull reminds me of a staff member at Keewell Assisted Living Center. A facility which should be aptly named Crunchem Hall Primary School. This 'staff member' is harsh, cold, strict and extremely condescending and is successful in making sure all staff follow her example. There may not be a Ms. TRUNCHBULL whip in this facility however the whip is heard in the words spoken to residents. There is no end to the 'you are no expert in this field' attitude. Please remember that your treasured senior and you ARE the experts in your loved ones 'field'. No need to pay these exorbitant fees for your loved one to be a student at Crunchem Assisted Living Center.

  I have been visiting a resident at this care home for approximately one year. I have notified the family of the appalling lack of care and compassion. This resident is fearful of 'breaking the rules', being caught speaking to another resident, being ordered by young staff that they must help fold laundry. It appears that no seniors are respected or cared for with dignity. They are treated like children. What a terrible way to finish the last chapter of a loved one's life. BEWARE!!!!!
