I was disappointed with the care by many staff at the McCormick Home. I feel my father was stripped of his dignity. They would leave him is shitty diapers and placed at the table to eat his dinner. He required assistance to eat, and he was not fed properly and ended up losing a lot of weight. The list goes on.

My brother was in McCormick Home for only 3 months until his passing in Feb./2025 but in that short time, we were extremely grateful that he was granted a spot in McCormick, out of the 5 homes that we put on our list with the placement group (Ontario HCCSS). It was the best place for him due to the Ministry of Health behavioural specialists on staff there, who treated his outbursts with kindness and patience. Not all LTC homes have these behavioural specialists. He could be very difficult when he was upset and I'm sorry for how verbally abusive he was to the various nurses, PSWs and other staff. However, they somehow were able to deal with him and keep providing excellent care to him. We waited so long for a LTC spot for him (years!) and we are so grateful that he was able to spend his final days in such a wonderful LTC home. If you have the opportunity to have your loved one placed at McCormick, do not hesitate to accept that spot. Not sure why the negative comments are here. We have nothing negative to say about McCormick Home.

My Mom was in the McCormick home for approx. 6 months. The staff and facility were, and are outstanding. The care and comfort they gave mom (Yvette Cyr) was nothing short of excellent. A huge thank you to ALL of the staff for taking such great care of mom in her final days. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. Thank you, Dan and Bonnie
