The coordinators are communicative and flexible. The companions are kind and engaging with my loved one. The only thing to improve is that the companion was changed a number of times at the beginning of our time with Nurse Next Door. This service has been a great help to m5 family!

Very poor and disappointing experience. Buyer beware as they say. I had made notes regarding pricing for 2 nights and passed the pricing on to the family members who needed it. When I received the billing the amount was $18/hr more than what I was quoted for the first night as it was deemed "urgent care". This was not expressed to me in the intake conversation and it was a very specific question. Interestingly, I had signed 3 forms for this care and the pricing was not in writing. If anyone does access this care make sure you get the pricing in writing before you proceed. I have never written a review like this before but I feel it is warranted in this circumstance. When I inquired to the error I was given a screenshot of the info that was supposedly discussed with me and it was false. There is no recourse and lesson learned.

I hired this service for a friend with dementia to provide meal care, housekeeping, and medication dispensing. Generally, the staff were quite good though most were not familiar with caring for someone with dementia nor did they get any formal training from Nurse Next Door based on conversations I had with them. Turnover in staff was frequent and occasionally shifts were cancelled with little notice. There was a single incident where my friend became quite agitated and grabbed one of the staff and scared (but did not hurt) her. All of my services were immediately revoked by the management team without any consultation. I was out of town at the time, making it a very stressful situation. I had to lean on other friends to step in with no notice to care for my friend to keep him fed and safe until I could get back to town. Six days later, Nurse Next Door contacted me with a new plan to look after my friend using only male support staff. SIX DAYS LATER. I simply don't understand how a care company can revoke all care without a Plan B for the family. Unconscionable! I would not recommend this company.
