At some point in life, we all need medical screening that requires general anasthesia. In US, they will provide the driving service if you need one, here - you're left to fan for yourself. They won't accept the cab! RCH suggested the Nurse Next Door. Not wanting to burden friends, I considered. NND would charge for 3 hrs at $50 rate even though it would be just a 15 min ride. They sent a contract that listed every scenario under the moon releasing them from any liability, except the one that we agreed on - a pickup from the hospital & dropping me off at home. They also wanted my credit card info. I had to follow up to make sure there won't be any extra charges. The details were always vague and every time I called to clarify, I had to explain it over and over again to the new person. I tried to be as prepared as I could be for the upcoming procedure, so I booked a service with NND 3 weeks ahead. Just a week before there was still no caregiver booked or info provided. I requested confirmation as well as not to phone my work due to my busy schedule and to avoid discussing the medical details in front of my coworkers. Well, NND ignored my request & phoned regardless and stated that they needed the exact time that I'd be released from the hospital and that they can't have a caregiver on the standby! They demanded that I would confirm with the hospital the timing of the release! RCH was not amused, of course. I sent an inquiry to why this is so ridiculously difficult & that NND seems be more caring about the caregiver than me as a patient? What if the doctor was late? What if I needed more time? I'm paying for 3 hours & the caregiver can't wait extra 15 minutes in the waiting room? In the end, I just called the friend and cancelled the pickup service. Stay away!

My mom dealt with nurse next door after a severe injury from a car accident. Nurse next door was brought in my icbc to help my mom around the house. But nurse next door was just awful. They made my mom so uncomfortable. I will never forget how they treated my mother who was in severe pain. Always pushing her to do something to report to ICBC that she can work around the house. My mother has now passed away because of ICBC.
