Because you can't give less than one star. If you love someone, never bring them to any Schlegel Villages LTCs. There is a 25:1 ratio of poorly trained staff to Nurses. The staff is polite and well-meaning, but they simply aren't trained and don't have the education to deal with many of the issues that come with caring for the elderly. Things I've personally witnessed: - Residents crying for help for extended periods of time without anyone acknowledging them. - Residents getting hurt because nobody is paying attention to them. - Residents walking off the property without supervision despite clearly needing it. - Residents sitting/laying in soiled clothing for too long before being addressed. - Residents being mocked by staff while asking for help. - Residents developing life-threatening infections that are not addressed because the staff are not medically trained. I can go on... Forget this place. It looks alright from the outside, but that's where it ends. Do your research, talk to the residents of any retirement home, before sending your loved one there. We all deserve some semblance of dignity in our final years. If you agree, DO NOT send a loved one to live anywhere Schlegel Villages are. Especially, considering how much they charge for what they call "care".

Any place that bans a person for speaking out against bad care and service should be shut down. Since that can't happen I urge every business who cares to ban every employee that works there from their businesses under the trespass property act. It's only fair.
