  In 1998, I came in contact with The Pentecostal Benevolent Association of Ontario (today’s Shepherd Village) through my work assignment. I met the Management Team of that time and was very impressed with their vision in providing accommodation to senior community with different requirements: independent living, assisted living, renting, life lease, and long-term care. I have been dreaming to live in such a community one day. I have finally reached the retirement age so I called Michelle Uniacke, Sales and Marketing Manager for an appointment. She was so patience to explain the life lease model, the governance and financial status of Shepherd Gardens. She provided me and my wife with sufficient information to decide whether Shepherd Garden would be our new home. We were at the right timing to acquire one of the units. Well before the purchase closing day, Michele met with us to go through policies and documents to get us well prepared. Whenever we come up with questions, Michelle is there to answer, to support and to guide us through. She is not just a staff at Shepherd Village, but also a best companion for seniors who are in the journey of moving to their new home at the Shepherd Village.

  My husband and I are pleased to be part of the Shepherd Gardens community. Throughout the Life Lease purchase process, Michele Uniacke, the Sales and Marketing Manager, has been very helpful and supportive. She and the management team were prompt in responding to our questions to make the process smooth. They are experienced and dedicated in their work. I came across Shepherd Villages during Covid time that they had amazing preventative and health measures for seniors. I like that their buildings are connected underground. We can walk to the café, pharmacy, salon, management office and even vending machines without having to go outside. It is great that the café is open everyday throughout the year without any day off! Every time we visit the Shepherd Village, we meet friendly neighbours and staff working at reception, café and salon…. Being a senior, I find that the Shepherd Gardens would meet my needs. I look forward to moving in soon and be part of this great community.

  I’ve had the pleasure of working with Michelle Uniacke the Sales & Marketing Manager at Sheppard Gardens both as a listing agent and while assisting buyer clients, and I can confidently say the experience has been exceptional. As this was my first time selling a life lease unit, there was definitely a learning curve and I had many questions. She was incredibly informative, patient, and responsive — taking the time to answer everything thoroughly and with great professionalism. I later had the opportunity to interact with her again while working with buyer clients, and once again, the experience was extremely positive. She engages with both clients and agents with confidence, genuine care, and even a great sense of humour, which makes the process both comfortable and enjoyable. Sheppard Gardens is very fortunate to have her — she is a true asset, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with her. I would highly recommend her. As for Sheppard Gardens itself, it is a lovely community. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are fantastic. I would not hesitate to recommend it to my senior clients.
