  When my Nana needed to be transferred out of the hospital and into a new home, looking through the list of options and reading reviews felt overwhelming. Like anyone, I wanted to make sure my loved one would be looked after, cared for, and treated with dignity. When I found St. Michael’s, I truly hoped we would get an opening. After comparing all the options, it was the one I felt most comfortable with. When we got the call that Nana had a bed here, I felt an incredible sense of relief. From the moment she arrived, the staff were kind, courteous, and compassionate. They took the time to explain things, answer questions, and treat her gently. In the final days of her life, when comfort and presence mattered most, they handled her care with patience and respect. As someone who visited often and paid close attention to her care, I can honestly say the staff showed consistency, professionalism, and heart. They spoke to her, not just about her. They adjusted when needed. And they were responsive when concerns were raised. This is not an easy decision for any family to make. But if you are looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with kindness and dignity, St. Michael’s gave us that peace of mind. For that, I’m deeply grateful.

  My mom was 90 yrs old, had a stroke and was brought here until she gets into a permanent place. She was on the 2nd floor, in the blue section. She had a shared room, her side had no windows. This place was to provide pillows for her as I was told. They provided her with a throw pillow. Her closet had a dirty diaper with feces that was not hers. There was a resident who would take off her diaper and hide them. They obviously weren’t watching them carefully. I came to visit my mom on a Monday morning unexpectedly and the care person was saying to my mom while I was walking towards her how gross and disgusting she was for drooling. I told her she did that because she had a stroke, not because she wanted to. The day she was leaving, they were not going to give me my mom’s belongings until I gave them back hangers that I bought as they believed the hangers were theirs. Her drawers were always a mess. I would come and organize everytime and when I would come back, it would be messy again. There were some things taken from my mom’s room. Nothing sentimental but still. The supervisor/ coordinator is a gossiper. She loves drama and really wanted to hear about my family issues. I found that distasteful. I would strongly not recommend this place as a choice to take your loved ones. Most of them don’t care and see your loved one as a nuisance.

  My family is incredibly grateful for the care my grandmother receives. The staff are absolutely lovely—friendly, polite, and always supportive. It’s clear they genuinely care about the residents, and go the extra mile to make them feel comfortable, and respected. The environment is clean, warm, and welcoming, and we’ve noticed how much happier and more relaxed my grandmother has been since moving here. Thank you to the whole team for your compassion and dedication. It means the world to our family.
