My grandmother ended up in this facility and was badly neglected by staff. When I was doing my practicum at the Kiwanis pavilion through Camosun College, I went to visit her and she was highly medicated and had a large bone-deep bedsore in her tailbone, bedridden in a dimly lit room for long periods of time on her own.

The aids and nurses at Kiwanis are absolutely fabulous! As for the higher up bosses, not so much.

I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for everyone that works in this facility. They’re incredibly kind and are so lovingly supportive of our loved ones. It’s guaranteed they can never be paid what they’re worth.
