What a great place to stay, mom was only going to stay for a visit for respite, and ended up by staying, the moment you walk in the front doors you’re greeted with smiles and kindness, mom‘s name was on the outside parking spot welcoming her so we knew we could park there and then walking in, the same welcome From the staff to the residence, and yes, even the dogs are exceedingly friendly, we even got to meet a cat who is so affectionate, The hallways are wide and bright, two elevators at each end, there’s a movie theatre, library, games room, so much more, they make sure my mom would come down and participate in so many different activities because if we didn’t come get her, she would never go, the dining room was absolutely lovely, big windows, There’s a park in the back where you can see tennis courts, and people walking with their children and dogs. The food was fabulous and the chef actually came out to meet us the first day. Everybody was personable,, even one of the servers made sure mom always had honey in her tea because she heard me ask for it once. The rooms are really nice. Mom‘s room was updated, beautifully, little kitchenette, beautiful showers, The Portsmouth is nestled in amongst a beautiful treed neighbourhood,, off the main streets , Grant and Taylor ,,so you feel comfortable sitting out front on the nice area with benches. I can’t say enough good things ,,,,thank you so much for my mom‘s stay was absolutely lovely.🩷🐾🐾

I enjoyed the visitand tour with Mary. Very welcoming and nice to meet helpful staff. Also experienced interesting cooking session with the chef at St James Assibiboia Senuor Centre. Help and inforation was very much appreciated.

Head Chef Irv and Entertainment Co-Ordinator Mary have been conducting, as part of their outreach, "Cooking for One" classes for our Centre. They do an awesome job and the classes sell out as soon as posted. We have learned so much. Thanks to the two of you.
