The Waterford Grand is my father’s 4th retirement home in as many years (even though it was my first choice for him when he moved to Ottawa ;-)). The staff has been exceptional in helping him to adjust. The food is 5*, as are the programs and entertainment. He is busier and happier than I have seen him in a very long time. The spaces are always humming with people—not the ghost town between meals like all the other retirement homes I have seen. He has made great friends, as have I! My husband and I join him for coffee (also 5*) lunches and especially the Friday night dinners and live music festivities that happen EVERY week. They always knock my socks off. I could go on and on. This place is truly special. I even see the owner mingling with residents, checking on the meal service, etc., almost every time I visit. If you’re looking, look no further.

We have had an incredible experience partnering with The Waterford Grand. I am the Principal of an alternative high school program, and we have collaborated on two major projects with their team and residents—both of which have been absolutely wonderful. We worked closely with Activity Director Oliver and the residents on a Jazz Night and a Tea & Cookies event, where we brought youth from Ottawa Community Housing to connect and engage with residents. The Waterford Grand was welcoming, supportive, and truly committed to creating meaningful community experiences. These events were impactful for both the youth and residents, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to build this partnership. This is just the start, and we can’t wait to continue our partnership and create even more meaningful experiences together. Highly recommend The Waterford Grand—an amazing community with an outstanding team!

We moved our mom into a one bedroom apartment on an independent living floor of The Waterford Grand in May of 2025. The entire team at The Waterford have been great with mom during this transition time. Mom really enjoys her dining experience as the food is excellent and the dining staff is very accommodating. There are a number of activities offered to the residents, mom enjoys the puzzle room, having her daily hot chocolate in the main lobby and looks forward to Friday nights in the Panache. Any staff members that I have encountered are always pleasant. Whether it is the people at the reception desk, the dining staff, healthcare/nursing staff, the activities organizers or the cleaning staff everyone has been excellent in caring for mom. A special shout out to Andrea who has gone above and beyond supporting not only mom but our family through this big change in mom’s life.
